Cody Coldren has been interested in the real estate industry — or has at least been aware of it — as long as he can remember. “Both of my parents at some point during my childhood were residential real estate agents, and it was a practice area that I became familiar with through their work,” Coldren said. He began his litigation career at the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office but then shifted to general litigation with a focus on construction. “Wanting to get more experience in both the litigation and transactional sides of the legal practice, I found myself at PSRB, where I can focus more on litigation, build a construction and real estate practice, and strengthen my knowledge of business and real estate transactions,” he said.
Givebacks: Outside the office, Coldren is a swimming and diving coach and coached two Park Tudor High School divers to successful finishes at the 2025 and 2026 Indiana High School Athletic Association Swimming and Diving State Championships.
First job: Mowing lawns. “But my most enjoyable work before I formally entered the workforce was coaching diving,” he said. “Having the opportunity to work alongside younger athletes and try to help them achieve their goals in the sport has always brought me energy and has kept me close to the pool.”
Motivation: Coldren credits his interest in the legal profession to his paternal grandfather, who practiced law for more than 50 years. “He was a role model of mine,” he says. “I wanted to help others like he did when I grew up.”
Mentors: Though Coldren has been guided by several individuals, he’s particularly fond of former Indiana University athletic director Fred Glass, who was still at IU when Coldren was a diver on the school team. “Fred went out of his way to be available to meet to discuss his career history and considerations for student athletes trying to get into law school,” he said. “After law school Fred has continued to mentor me on how to make positive impacts in the Indianapolis community.”
Favorite de-stressors: “When the stressors are high, as long as the deadlines aren’t immediately approaching, the gym is a great place to take an hour to focus on myself outside of the office, so that I can have a clear head to approach the tasks at hand.”•
