On Wednesday, Delaware Circuit Court Judge Judi Calhoun sentenced Zacrey Antrim, 30, after he pleaded guilty in July for resisting law enforcement resulting in death, a Level 3 Felony; resisting law enforcement resulting in serious bodily injury, a Level 5 Felony; and operating a vehicle with a controlled substance in his blood, a Class C Misdemeanor.
“Antrim killed another human being and seriously hurt another because he wouldn’t follow one of the most basic rules we have an orderly society,” said Delaware County Prosecuting Attorney Eric Hoffman in a statement.
According to court documents, in 2024, Antrim was being pursued in his vehicle by a deputy with the Henry County Sheriff’s Department.
After Antrim swerved into the left turn lane, trying to go around vehicles stopped at a light, he crashed into a white Jeep. The driver of the Jeep was seriously injured, and the accident resulted in the death of Antrim’s passenger, Nicholus Wollums.
“When a police officer turns on the red and blue lights – you pull over and stop. It is just that simple,” Hoffman said. “Had he done so the carnage in this case would not have happened. I am proud of Deputy Prosecutor Maricel Driscoll and the Muncie Police Department and the Indiana State Police for their hard work and dedication in this case.”
