15 apply to be next Tax Court judge

Fifteen people want to be Indiana’s next Tax Court judge. Judge Thomas G. Fisher announced in August his plans to retire Jan. 1, 2011.

Six of the 15 applicants are women; three are currently judges, and none come from Northern Indiana. The applicants will have their first-round interviews before the Indiana Judicial Nominating Commission beginning at 9 a.m. and going until 3:45 p.m. Sept. 27. Semi-finalist interviews are scheduled for Oct. 27.

The applicants are:

-    Dan Carwile, Evansville, Peoples Savings Bank;

-    Hon. Carol Comer, Indianapolis, administrative law judge, Board of Tax Review;

-    Thomas Ewbank, Indianapolis, partner, Krieg DeVault;

-    Richard Hofmann, Noblesville;

-    Joby Jerrells, Bloomington;

-    Hon. Bruce Kolb, Fishers, administrative law judge, Department of Revenue;

-    Hon. Karen Love, Lizton, Hendricks Superior Court 3;

-    Marilyn Meighen, Carmel;

-    Joseph Pearman, Carmel;

-    Randle Pollard, Indianapolis;
