The Indiana Roll of Attorneys says Conour tendered his resignation June 28, which the Indiana justices accepted that day.
Conour is charged with wire fraud in the Southern District of Indiana. He’s accused of using money from new client settlements to pay for old settlements and debts. He also faced an investigation by the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission based on his alleged settlement of a case without a client’s knowledge and withholding of the funds.
His resignation ends any disciplinary proceedings. If Conour wants to practice in Indiana again, he will have to wait five years before petitioning for reinstatement.
If convicted on the fraud charge, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
