The Domestic Relations Committee of the Indiana Judicial Conference is soliciting public input concerning recommendations for changes to the state’s child support guidelines.

The committee will be holding a public hearing May 16 from 10 a.m. to noon to hear comments about possible amendments to the guidelines which are used by the judiciary in a variety of actions involving child support including dissolutions of marriage, paternity cases and Title IV-D proceedings. Judicial officers, attorneys, parents and other members of the public are invited to the hearing in the Supreme Court Courtroom on the third floor of the Indiana Statehouse. The hearing will also be webcast.

Anyone interested in speaking at the event or submitting comments is asked to visit the website at http://www.in.gov/judiciary/4188.htm for guidelines and additional information. Written comments will be accepted until May 27, 2014, and can be submitted on the website or mailed to: Indiana Judicial Center; c/o Domestic Relations Committee; 30 S. Meridian St., Suite 900; Indianapolis, IN 46204-3564.

Recommendations from the committee will be submitted to the Indiana Supreme Court which has final authority over the guidelines.
