ask-a-lawyer John Cross of Mercer Belanger speaks with a community member at the Indianapolis Public Library Lawrence Branch during Ask a Lawyer April 8.

Tuesday, April 8 was a record-breaking day as 705 Hoosiers were provided with free legal advice through the IndyBar’s Ask a Lawyer event. More than 120 attorney and paralegal volunteers were stationed at locations throughout the city to provide this important community service.

Both attorney and paralegal volunteers are crucial in the success of this program. Interested in volunteering for the next Ask a Lawyer on October 14? Contact Caren Chopp at [email protected].

Ask a Lawyer, as well as other IndyBar Pro Bono initiatives like Legal Line, Low Asset Wills and the Hospice Project, is made possible through the generosity of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation.•
