IndyBar: Ricafort to Lead Indianapolis Bar Association in 2017

The Indianapolis Bar Association’s Nominating Committee has announced the selection of Nissa M. Ricafort of Broyles Kight & Ricafort PC as the 2017 President of the Indianapolis Bar Association. Ricafort will serve as the association’s First Vice President on the 2015 Board of Directors and as President Elect in 2016.

Ricafort, an IndyBar member of 15 years, is one of the three founding partners at her firm. She attended Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis and graduated summa cum laude in 1999. Ricafort handles family law cases and serves as Parenting Coordinator and as a private Guardian ad Litem at her firm. Prior to being nominated to First Vice President, Ricafort served as Secretary of the Indianapolis Bar Association from 2010-2012 and as a Vice President from 2013-2014.

William E. Winingham of Wilson Kehoe Winingham was named to a two-year term as Secretary. Winingham most recently served as a Vice President of the Indianapolis Bar Association.

Five At-Large Directors were also selected. Chosen to serve through 2016 were James A. Edgar, Attorney at Law; Eric N. Engebretson, Whitham Hebenstreit & Zubek LLP; Patricia Caress McMath, Attorney at Law; The Hon. Timothy W. Oakes, Marion Superior Court; and The Hon. Jose D. Salinas, Marion Superior Court. They will be joining returning board members Jimmie McMillian of Barnes & Thornburg LLP, Treasurer; Phil Isenbarger of Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP, ABA Delegate; TaKeena Thompson and Kelley Johnson of Cohen & Malad LLP, The Hon. Marc Rothenberg of Marion Superior Court, Kathleen Hart of Riley Bennett & Egloff LLP and Colleen Powers of Hall Render Killian Heath & Lyman PC, all At-Large Directors serving the second of their two-year terms. As determined by previous nomination, the 2014 Board of Directors will be led by John C. Trimble of Lewis Wagner LLP. The Hon. Robyn L. Moberly, Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana, will be President Elect.

Rounding out the Board of Directors are four Vice Presidents selected by 2015 President John Trimble. The Hon. James B. Osborn, Marion Superior Court; James J. Bell, Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP; Stephanie L. Cassman, Lewis Wagner LLP; and Kelly M. Scanlan, Baker & Gilchrist, will serve as Vice Presidents in 2015. Trimble has also appointed Susan E. Cline of Lewis Wagner LLP as Counsel to the board.

The Nominating Committee was chaired by Phil Isenbarger. Joining Isenbarger on the committee were The Hon. Cynthia J. Ayers, Marion Superior Court; Rebecca W. Geyer, Rebecca W. Geyer & Associates PC; Richard J. Thrapp, Ice Miller LLP; and Robert W. York, Robert W. York & Associates.

The 2015 Board of Directors will be formally installed at the Indianapolis Bar Association and Foundation Installation Luncheon, to be held Jan. 29, 2015.•
