A 21-year-old Muncie woman has pleaded guilty in connection with the death of her infant son.

Sheryl Ashley Wallace's plea comes about two weeks after her ex-husband Cory Michael Wallace was sentenced to 72 years in prison in 4-month-old baby Jensen Wallace's death. Sheryl Wallace pleaded guilty Wednesday to felony neglect of a dependent resulting in death. She faces up decades in prison when she's sentenced Jan. 5.

Prosecutors said Cory Wallace failed to seek medical attention for his son after he sustained fatal head injuries, and then set fires to the infant's bedroom to try to cover up the cause of death.

Sheryl Wallace's plea agreement included dismissal of an obstruction of justice charge. The judge can decide on Wallace's sentence.
