A retired Noble County judge will begin serving as a judge pro tempore in the LaGrange Circuit Court after the sitting judge retires later this year.

Current LaGrange Circuit Judge J. Scott Vanderbeck has announced he will step down from the bench effective June 1. In his place, Judge G. David Laur has been appointed as judge pro tempore, effective June 2.

Laur will continue to serve until further order of the court or until a successor is appointed, whichever is first. He will be compensated at the same rate as the regular judge.

The order appointing Laur can be read here.
