February bar passage rate dips below 50 percent

The bar passage rate is continuing its downward trend, with only 47 percent of all takers passing the February 2018 Indiana bar exam.

According to the results released Monday by the Indiana Office of Admissions & Continuing Education, 270 individuals took the exam in February. The overall pass rate for first-time takers was 67 percent. The pass rate for repeat takers was 26 percent.

Comparatively, the overall pass rate for the February 2017 exam was 52 percent. The overall pass rate for first-time takers was 66 percent and for repeat takers was 42 percent.
