The Domestic Relations Committee of the Judicial Conference of Indiana is seeking public comment on Indiana’s current child support guidelines.

The committee will hold a public hearing at 10 a.m. on Aug. 17 in the Supreme Court Courtroom on the third floor of the Indiana Statehouse to discuss the guidelines. Indiana child support guidelines are used as a framework to determine child support in cases of divorce, legal separations, paternity cases, Title IV-D proceedings and all other actions for child support.

Those who plan to speak at the hearing are asked to register in advance and follow specific guidelines listed here.

Members of the public interested in submitting written suggestions may do so here through August 27. Comments may also be submitted via mail to the Indiana Office of Court Services, c/o Domestic Relations Committee, 251 N. Illinois St., Suite 800, Indianapolis, 46204.

Recommendations from the committee will be submitted to the Indiana Supreme Court, which has final authority over the guidelines. The Domestic Relations Committee is comprised of judicial officers from across the state.
