Subscribe NowA northern Indiana attorney previously charged with felony forgery of a judge’s signature received her fourth suspension of the year for failure to cooperate with another Disciplinary Commission investigation of a grievance against her. Four of the suspensions remain active.
Justices once again suspended Decatur attorney Jill N. Holtzclaw following a slew of disciplinary actions filed against her since April. She was suspended in July after Adams County authorities charged her in February on allegations that she forged a judge’s signature and falsely claimed to a client’s widow that forwarded emails were from a Huntington County deputy prosecutor.
A Friday suspension order stated that Holtzclaw did not respond to the commission’s latest order to show cause, nor a Nov. 9 Request for Ruling and to Tax Costs. She is thus ordered to reimburse the commission $520.01 for the costs of the proceedings and suspended from the practice of law effective immediately.
Holtzclaw is currently under suspension for three other discipline cases opened against her, as well as for continuing legal education noncompliance.
