A senior judge has been appointed to continue operations in a Posey County court once the sitting judge retires from the bench next week.

Judge S. Brent Almon notified the Indiana Supreme Court of his intent to retire from the Posey Superior Court bench Feb. 28. Thus, the high court announced in a Tuesday order that Robert R. Aylsworth will temporarily serve on the bench as a senior judge, effective March 1.

Aylsworth will continue his service in the Posey Superior Court until further order of the court or until an official successor to Almon takes office. The senior judge will be compensated at the same rate as the regular judge.
