The Indiana Paralegal Association Inc. is celebrating its 40th anniversary and will be recognized by the Indiana Senate next month for its accomplishments in the legal profession.

Members of the Indiana Senate will honor the organization at 1:30 p.m. April 2 in the Indiana Senate Chambers. Those who wish to attend the ceremony are invited to watch in the chamber gallery. The IPA will also honor its legacy later this year during an October 5 CLE event, which will include eight CLE presentations and a celebratory luncheon.

Formerly known as the Indianapolis Paralegal Association at its 1979 establishment, the organization eventually adopted a broader name to address a growing need for an organized paralegal professional association by becoming the Indiana Paralegal Association in 1983.

IPA is dedicated to the professional development and education of its members and the establishment of ethics and professional standards for all paralegals statewide. The organization has seen significant growth, expanding from a handful of founders to hundreds of members in 2019.

Additional information on the CLE event can be found on the IPA’s website or by email at [email protected].
