Eric Holcomb to fill vacancies in northern Indiana state trial courts. Christopher Kehler will serve on the new Kosciusko Superior Court, and Benjamin Vanderpool will serve on the Wabash Superior Court.
Kehler will lead the new Kosciusko Superior Court 4, which was created in 2018 and will open July 1. The new judge has been a solo practitioner in Warsaw and has taught as an adjunct professor at Ivy Tech Community College.
A graduate of Franklin College, Kehler earned his law degree at Valparaiso University Law School.
In Wabash, Vanderpool will succeed the late Judge Amy Conner Cornell, who died this year at age 42 and had been Holcomb’s choice to replace former Wabash Superior Judge Christopher Goff upon his appointment to the Indiana Supreme Court.
Vanderpool has been practicing at the Vanderpool Law Firm P.C., which has offices in Wabash and Warsaw.
A graduate of Purdue University, Vanderpool earned his law degree from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Both Kehler and Vanderpool will be sworn in as judges on dates to be determined.
