The Indiana Supreme Court has appointed Senior Judge Larry R. Blanton to serve as judge pro tempore of the Martin Circuit Court beginning next month.

Judge Isha E. Wright-Ryan will began maternity leave Oct. 1, according to the Monday order. Blanton will take the bench as judge pro tem on that date and will serve until further order of the high court.

As judge pro tem, he will have authority to “continue the employment of court personnel and otherwise discharge the duties of Judge of the Martin Circuit Court,” and will be “entitled to compensation for his service, paid by the State of Indiana, computed at the same rate as the regular judge commencing from the effective date of his appointment, pursuant to Trial Rule 63(D).”
