Subscribe NowThe Judicial Council of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit on Thursday announced it is seeking applicants to fill two upcoming vacancies on the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
One position is expected to open this year, with another expected to open in early 2027, according to a press release.
Applicants must be admitted to practice in at least one state court and must be members in good standing of every bar to which they have been admitted.
These judges would be stationed in Indianapolis, but would be asked to travel to other locations in the Seventh Circuit’s jurisdiction as needed.
The term is 14 years, and the current annual salary is $229,908.
Per the requirements of Section 120 of the Bankruptcy Amendments and Federal Judgeship Act of 1984, the Judicial Council of the Seventh Circuit will recommend candidates the U.S. Court of Appeals, which will make the appointment, subject to an FBI background check and IRS tax check.
