In addition to his sentence, Kyle Vincent Rogers, 32, will serve 10 years of supervised release and must pay $3,000 in restitution, according to a news release.
According to court documents, between March and October 2023, Rogers knowingly received and distributed child sexual abuse material using a peer-to-peer file-sharing software downloaded onto his laptop, according to court documents.
That November, investigators located at least 600 images and videos of abuse material on Rogers’s laptop. The material involved the abuse of toddlers and infants, according to court documents.
“The children in these images and videos will be revictimized for years to come because the defendant possessed and recirculated the material, allowing an unknown number of additional predators to gain unrestricted access,” said John E. Childress, Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana in a news release. “Our office is committed to leveraging law enforcement partnerships and tools to secure justice for the most vulnerable. Today’s sentence should send a clear message that there is no place to hide for those who prey on children.”
The case was investigated as part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative by the U.S. Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual abuse and exploitation.
