Indy Bond Bank recognized for Community Justice Center bonds

The Indianapolis Local Public Improvement Bond Bank has been announced as one of 10 regional winners of the 2019 “Deal of the Year” award for its achievement in municipal finance and is also a finalist for the national Deal of the Year Award. As the Midwest region winner, the Indianapolis Bond Bank was selected for its $625 million issuance of bonds for the new Community Justice Campus being built in the Twin Aire neighborhood southeast of downtown Indianapolis.

Muncie woman arrested after death of baby with burns, fractures

A central Indiana woman has been arrested following the death of her young daughter who authorities say had burns on most parts of her body, multiple bone fractures and apparently was malnourished. Thirty-two-year-old Sarah Ann Styhl of Muncie is jailed in Delaware County on $50,000 bond and is preliminarily charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in death.

S. Indiana man hears charges in chase that killed Charlestown officer

Benjamin Eads of Freedom appeared in court Monday in Scott County on charges including auto theft and resisting law enforcement, which led to a death. Authorities say Eads fled a traffic stop on Dec. 12, triggering a police chase during which Charlestown Officer Benton Bertram’s vehicle struck a tree. Bertram was pronounced dead at the scene.
