A Utah judge on Monday ordered the release of a transcript from a closed-door hearing in October over whether the man charged with killing Charlie Kirk must be shackled during court proceedings.
The 22-year-old man now charged with the crime was texting with his romantic partner and acknowledging he was the shooter, court documents revealed.
The charge means Tyler Robinson could face the death penalty if convicted of killing Kirk last week at Utah Valley University in Orem.
The governor noted that Robinson, who is not cooperating with law enforcement, disliked Kirk and may have been “radicalized” online.
Tyler Robinson, 22, had become “more political” in the run-up to the shooting and mentioned during a dinner with family that Kirk would be visiting Utah, Gov. Spencer Cox said at a news conference.
