An Indianapolis man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a postal worker, authorities said Wednesday.

Indianapolis police homicide detectives along with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and FBI agents arrested Tony Cushingberry, 21, on Tuesday for his alleged involvement in the death of Angela Summers, 45.

Federal prosecutors will review the case and make a charging decision, police said.

Summers was shot about 4 p.m. Monday while she delivered mail on the city’s east side, police said. She died at a hospital.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service offered a reward of up to $50,000 Tuesday for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who shot and killed Summers.

A motive for the shooting has not been released.

It wasn’t clear whether Cushingberry has an attorney who might comment on his behalf.
