Judge Tanya Walton Pratt took the oath June 25 to become a judge in U.S. District Court, Southern District of Indiana. Chief
Judge Richard L. Young administered the oath in the Birch Bayh Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in Indianapolis. Judge
Pratt is the first African-American federal judge in Indiana. Before becoming a federal judge, Judge Pratt served as a judge
in Marion County.
