Stacy Sheedy, the Indianapolis attorney and accountant who pleaded guilty to theft charges for misappropriating nearly $600,000 from a guardianship account and family trust, was sentenced to eight years in prison Thursday.

Sheedy was arrested in January after grand jury investigators found $596,000 in withdrawals and unaccounted for funds from those accounts she managed. She pleaded guilty to two counts of Class C felony theft in March. She will serve a concurrent sentence on both counts.

As part of the plea agreement, Sheedy agreed to the release of three seized bank accounts as well as the release of seized “Lord of the Rings” and other movie memorabilia.

Sheedy was admitted to practice in Indiana in 1996, according to the Indiana Roll of Attorneys. She was suspended from the practice of law in June 2011 for failing to cooperate with the Disciplinary Commission’s investigation of a grievance filed against her. The Indiana Supreme Court reinstated her on July 26.

The Supreme Court may suspended attorneys found guilty of a felony pending further order of the court.
