Odyssey is slated to go live in the civil courts May 13.
The Marion County Clerk’s Office is encouraging new civil case filings after May 3 to be delayed until May 13, if possible. The clerk’s office released information about the transition and what civil court users can expect between the close of business May 3 and May 13.
Filings and transactions will be accepted by the clerk’s office during the week beginning May 6, but they “will be handled through a manual process and result in some delay transferring the case to the court,” according to the clerk’s office. The records taken manually will have to be entered into Odyssey when the system is operational.
The clerk’s office will not have electronic access to civil case records between the shutdown of JUSTIS at 5 p.m. Friday and the launch of Odyssey on May 13.
In the transition, only active and open civil case files will migrate to Odyssey, the clerk’s office said. That’s about 160,000 case files of the approximately 2 million in the JUSTIS system. The remainder of the files will be available through an archived data warehouse.
