E-filing begins in Fishers City Court

The Fishers City Court has become the most recent to implement electronic filing as the Indiana Supreme Court nears the end of its push to roll out e-filing across the state.

The Hamilton County court implemented voluntary e-filing on Friday and will switch to a mandatory electronic system on May 1. The Randolph Circuit and Superior Courts will follow suit and begin voluntary e-filing on March 14, followed by the Center Township Small Claims Court in Marion County on March 23.

Courts in 87 Indiana cities and counties have already implemented voluntary e-filing, while 77 have mandated the electronic practice. The Brown Circuit Court will be the next to switch to mandatory e-filing on April 2, followed by the Beech Grove City Court on April 3.

The Supreme Court has set a goal of rolling out e-filing in each of Indiana’s 92 counties and city courts by the end of 2018. The full e-filing implementation schedule can be read here.
