Indiana’s High School Mock Trial program is sending out a call for volunteer judges during its state finals competition this weekend.

Hosted by the Indiana Bar Foundation, the mock trial competition expects 200 students to participate in its state finals competition Saturday and Sunday. Judges are requested to serve during rounds three and four and will preside over and score the mock trials presented by Hoosier high school students. Judges would spend approximately two hours reviewing case materials before arriving at the event and should expect to set aside at least three hours per scheduled round on the day of the competition.

Students from 12 schools will litigate a fictitious civil case, alternating as the prosecution and defense through four rounds of competition. The top-two teams will make their case in the final trial at the Indiana War Memorial with Indiana Supreme Court Justice Steven David presiding.

Individuals interested in applying to serve as a judge during the state finals may do so here.
