The prosecutor in Vigo County says he’s fired the director of the child support division and asked for a police investigation of his office.

Prosecutor Terry Modesitt declined to offer details to the Tribune-Star. He says he wants to be “very generic” during an “ongoing investigation.”

Modesitt says it could be 60 days or more before state police complete their work. He says a special prosecutor outside his office will review the investigation.

Holly Silver was director of the child support division. She couldn’t be immediately reached for comment.
