Gov. Eric Holcomb has appointed a new judge to the bench in Vermillion Circuit Court.

Daniel Reed Young will be replacing Judge Jill Wesch, who resigned in December 2022. Senior Judge Robert Hall is currently serving as judge pro tem in that court.

Young currently has a private practice in Attica and is a part-time public defender in Tippecanoe County, according to Holcomb’s office. He earned his law degree from Regent University School of Law and was admitted to the Indiana bar 2007.

Wesch announced her resignation last November, according to The Clintonian, saying, “This was an extremely difficult decision for me to make, but because of personal, professional and family considerations, I felt that this was the best course of action for myself and my family.”

Young will be sworn in as judge on a date to be determined.
