For the 15th year in a row, the Indianapolis Bar Foundation (IBF) hosted a successful Lawyer Links Golf Classic at the Country Club of Indianapolis this July. One hundred and ten lawyers, judges, vendors and friends joined in for the golf outing at the Country Club of Indianapolis, which was played in a “scramble” format. More than 50 law firms across all areas of practice, businesses and vendors joined for the outing as participants or sponsors. Participants enjoyed what seems to be an annual tradition of beautiful weather at a fantastic golf course. While the golf itself may not have always been fantastic — as is the game of golf — all had great fun on a Thursday at an event that cannot be missed. The Waterfill Law foursome came away this year with the big win. This group included Brian Stroud, Nate Barker, Todd Hanni, and Tyler Turley. Congratulations!

The Lawyer Links Classic has become an event that has evolved over the years, and we hope it only continues to enjoy success and interest. The event is critical in supporting the IBF so that it can further its mission to provide a variety of services, such as grants and scholarships. The IBF serves as the charitable arm of the Indianapolis Bar Association, and it relies heavily upon the involvement and charitable contributions of the Indianapolis community. Events like the Lawyer Links Classic allow the IBF to continue to advance justice and lead positive change in the Indianapolis area through philanthropy, education and service. That is the IBF’s mission, and we thank all of those who supported that mission through participation in and/or sponsorship of the 2019 Lawyer Links Classic.

In total, over $34,000 was raised through this event to support community members in need. We would also like to thank the Country Club of Indianapolis for their generosity in hosting us, yet again, for this event. Additionally, we’d like to thank Deneen Fitzgerald from the Indianapolis Bar Association for her tireless help, all of those at the IndyBar that helped prepare for the event and provide assistance day-of, and IBF Golf Committee Chairs Mike McBride and Ned Mulligan (and the entire committee) for making it such a terrific event again this year.

Keep an eye out for an announcement regarding the date for next year’s outing, and please note who this outing does not require you be a good golfer in any way, shape, or form to participate! It is a great way to meet individuals that practice in different sectors, judges and others while enjoying a beautiful day on a beautiful golf course. We hope to see many of you out there next year. •
