Katie Jackson-Lindsay

Katie Jackson-Lindsay of Jackson Legal Services has been selected to lead the Indianapolis Bar Association in 2026 by the IndyBar’s Nominating Committee. Jackson-Lindsay currently serves as counsel to the board. She is a member of the Marion County Judicial Selection Committee and is also the immediate past president of the Marion County Bar Association. A former deputy prosecutor, she focuses her practice on criminal defense. She will serve as the association’s first vice president in 2024 and as president-elect in 2025.

“Katie is an excellent lawyer and an exceptional person. We’re so happy that she stepped forward to share her time and put her outstanding leadership skills to work for the benefit of all Indianapolis bar members. She is a visionary leader that will continue to elevate our association,” said James Bell of Hoover Hull Turner LLP, chair of the IndyBar Nominating Committee.

“The association was fortunate to have numerous members also step forward to be considered for roles on the board. We had an extremely difficult time making final decisions as there were many qualified applicants and only a few available positions on the board. After interviewing so many highly involved members, who have served in numerous leadership roles, the committee believes we have selected a slate that will have positive impact for us all,” Bell said.

Those selected include Adam Christensen of Hearthside Foods Solutions, who will continue in his current role of treasurer for two additional years. Named as at-large directors also serving two-year terms are Lacey Berkshire of Ice Miller LLP, LaToya Highsaw of Massillamany Jeter & Carson, the Honorable Jane Magnus-Stinson of U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, Briana Schroeder of Janzen Schroeder Agricultural Law and Magistrate Judge Jim Snyder of Marion Superior Court.

As determined by previous nomination, the 2024 board of directors will be led by David Duncan of Scannell Properties, and Lee Christie of Christie Farrell Lee & Bell will be president-elect. Rebecca Geyer of Rebecca Geyer & Associates, current IndyBar President, will remain on the board as immediate past president. Emily Angel-Shaw of Kids’ Voice of Indiana will also continue service as secretary.

Future presidents have also made several appointments. Chosen to serve in Executive Committee roles were Peter Elliott of Commercial Court of Indiana as vice president of continuing education, Amanda Gallagher of Barnes & Thornburg LLP as vice president of law student and young lawyer engagement, Raegan Gibson of Paganelli Law Group as vice president of membership, and Travis Van Winkle of Van Winkle Law as vice president of business development programs. Jacob Bradley of Quarles & Brady LLP has been appointed as general counsel.

The 2024 board of directors will be celebrated at the Indianapolis Bar Association and Foundation installation gathering, to be held in January 2024.•
