Knepley

The Indianapolis Bar Association is proud to recognize Rayann Knepley of Kids’ Voice of Indiana as the association’s Paralegal of the Year for 2020. We invite you to join the IndyBar in congratulating and celebrating Rayann for her unmatched contributions to the Indianapolis legal community!

Knepley has been a paralegal for Kids’ Voice for more than two years. Previously, she’s held other paralegal and legal assistant positions following her education at Ashford University. Knepley currently serves as the chair of the IndyBar Paralegal Committee.

Knepley is currently a paralegal for all six staff attorneys at Kids’ Voice, and she also manages the organization’s interns. She also works as a paralegal for Kids’ Voice’s Guardian Ad Litem Program and the Parenting Coordination Program. She has been instrumental in collecting data on cases and has spearheaded Kids’ Voice’s electronic filing system, leading to a more environmentally friendly practice.

“She is the best paralegal we have had since I have been at Kids’ Voice for eight years,” her nominator, Lindsay Scott, says in her nomination. “She’s probably the hardest worker in the office and is always willing to help them get what they need on their cases to better serve the children we advocate for. Rayann is always learning and finding ways to make the lives of the attorneys in our office easier.”

Another nominator, Emily Angel of Kids’ Voice, says Kids’ Voice is lucky to have Knepley on staff. “She’s a wonderful paralegal and teammate. I truly believe we are able to do our work more effectively because she keeps us all organized,” Angel says. “She knows her stuff and carries herself extremely professionally, and I am proud to be on her team.”

In addition to her work as a paralegal, Knepley manages to find time to give back to her small community. She is the town treasurer of Greensboro and serves as a member of a Habitat for Humanity Women Build team. She also volunteers for Kids’ Voice as a guardian ad litem and organizes networking events for paralegal students at IUPUI. Knepley is also heavily involved with the Indiana Paralegal Association.

“She is organized and professional. She is a model paralegal. Besides that, she is a fantastic person. She is so kind and so deserving of this award,” Scott says. Join us in honoring Knepley and the daily contributions of all paralegals in 2020!•
