Hon. Heather Welch

Be present for the start of a new tradition by attending the first ever IndyBar-hosted judicial retirement ceremony, which will recognize the career of the Hon. Heather Welch of the Marion Superior Court. Beginning in 2024, IndyBar will be hosting robing ceremonies for all newly elected and appointed Marion Circuit and Superior Court judges as well as retirement ceremonies for judges beginning their next chapters. Judicial officers work tirelessly for the community, and we at IndyBar believe they and the courts they serve deserve public recognition for their efforts. These robing and retirement ceremonies are just one way in which the bar can say thank you. The ceremonies are modeled after the longstanding traditions of other court systems. We look forward to hosting them for years to come!

Join us in expressing gratitude to Judge Heather Welch for her remarkable career in public service and commitment to our community. Guests from the various facets of her life and career will present brief remarks about Judge Welch from their unique perspectives. We will close our program with Judge Welch’s personal thoughts, giving her a chance to thank those of significant importance to her life, reflect on her exceptional career and impart words of wisdom. The program will be followed by an informal reception providing an opportunity to personally thank her and wish her well for the future.

This public ceremony and reception is set for 4-5 p.m. on Jan. 30 at the Community Justice Center. Registration is encouraged, and you can complete your registration at indybar.org/welch.•
