Do the spring temperatures forecasted to round out the month of February in Indianapolis have you thinking about cars on the track at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway? Did you watch the NASCAR race in Daytona and wonder how that large-scale operation works? Are you an F1 fan excited about the first round of the season upcoming next weekend? If so, the Racing Attorney Conference (TRAC) is the destination continuing legal education event for you!

The 2024 Racing Attorney Conference will be hosted April 9-10 at Circuit of Americas in Austin, Texas. “We have been counting down the days until Texas gets to help host this one-of-a-kind conference,” says State Bar of Texas representative Brent Turman from Bell Nunnally & Martin LLP. TRAC, first held in 2008, is an annual event that combines education, development and networking for leaders in the motorsports industry. This year, the Indianapolis Bar Association Sports & Entertainment Law Section is excited to continue the momentum from a successful relaunch of TRAC in 2023 after a pandemic pause.

New this year for TRAC is cooperation and collaboration with the State Bar of Texas and the Austin Bar. With support of former host, the North Carolina Bar Association, and Texas involvement, the section’s planning committee truly believes TRAC will be fantastic again in 2024. The section’s planning committee is thrilled to offer a full agenda of CLE sessions at this year’s conference, which includes panels on racing production and broadcasting, data privacy and cybersecurity, sponsorship, AI in sports, assumption of risk and waiver, event cancellation protection, the Corporate Transparency Act and recent racing contract disputes. Planning committee member from the Austin Bar, Michele Martell of Martell Media House PLLC, said, “Austin has long been the home of live entertainment, and now with the increasing popularity of motorsports, the Austin sports and entertainment bar section is delighted to co-host the TRAC conference at the stunning Circuit of the Americas track.”

The vision for the future is to hold TRAC on a host city rotation to sustain the conference and continue to uphold TRAC as the national leader in motorsports legal education for years to come! TRAC is intended to bring attorneys from all facets of the racing and motorsports industry together in one place. But the Sports & Entertainment Law Section welcomes anyone, motorsports attorney or not, to join us at the conference! Do you love racing and want to get eight CLE hours knocked out? Do you want to spend two days at Circuit of the Americas where F1 will host a round again in 2024? Do you want to hear from industry experts so you can impress your family, friends and colleagues by explaining the ins and outs of the important legal aspects of motorsports as you turn on the television this spring and summer for live events?

Please consider attending this unique conference in Austin, Texas. You can register and find more information by visiting racingattorneys.com. Let’s keep the theme of “everything is bigger in Texas” by having a large contingent of IndyBar attorneys attend TRAC!•
