Give back and help your community from home! We’re looking for volunteers to answer legal questions from the public via our new online messaging system, Virtual Ask a Lawyer.

Members of the public can submit their legal questions in an online chat format at indybar.org/chat. An attorney logged in to the online chat monitors the site for questions and chats with individuals seeking legal advice.

Volunteers will be provided with the electronic version of the IndyBar’s “Commonly Asked Questions About Indiana Law” as well as the IndyBar’s COVID-19 Resource Manual on Key Subject Areas. Training on the software is also available.

How can I sign up?

Email Kari Hartman at [email protected] with your name, email address and phone number, and you’ll be contacted with instructions and reference resources to help you when you’re answering questions. Training is available upon request.

If you have any questions or would like more details about this volunteer opportunity, please email IndyBar Public Outreach Committee co-chairs Cassie Nielsen ([email protected]) and Brett Thomas ([email protected]).•
