Marion Circuit Judge Sheryl L. Lynch will temporarily step down from her seat on the bench after informing the Indiana Supreme Court that she is taking a medical leave of absence.

Serving in her place as judge pro tempore will be Senior Judge Jeffrey C. Eggers, the Indiana Supreme Court announced in a Thursday order.

Eggers’ term in the Marion Circuit Court will begin effective Aug. 30. He shall remain a judge pro tem until further order of the court.

The order will be sufficient authority for Eggers to continue the employment of court personnel and otherwise discharge the duties of the judge. Eggers will be compensated at the same rate as the regular judge commencing from the effective date of his appointment.
