The Marion County Judicial Selection Committee announced three nominees on Friday to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Marion Superior Court Judge Cynthia Ayers.

Magistrate Judges Sarah Glasser, Marcia Harper and Patricia McMath have been selected as the top three candidates, according to the Indiana Supreme Court.

On Friday, the committee interviewed 13 candidates before publicly voting on the three nominees.

According to Indiana law, the committee is required to submit to the governor “the three most highly qualified candidates” for appointment when a vacancy arises.

Upon receiving the lists, Gov. Eric Holcomb has 60 days in which to make an appointment to the Marion County courts.
