U.S. District Court Senior Judge James Moody sentenced Raul Martinez, 50, for selling cocaine on six separate occasions from October 2021 to July 2022.
According to case documents, during the execution of a search warrant at Martinez’s residence in Merrillville, law enforcement recovered about five kilograms of cocaine, nine firearms, ammunition, cocaine presses, digital scales and a money counter.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Indiana did not immediately respond to The Indiana Lawyer’s request for comment.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration Indiana High Intensity Drug Trafficking Task Force, and it was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Toth.
