Monroe Circuit Judge Mary Ellen Diekhoff and attorney Katherine Tapp of Kightlinger & Gray are the newest appointments to the Indiana Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program committee. They will begin their terms Jan. 1, 2022.

The JLAP Committee overseas the work of JLAP which provides confidential assistance to judges, lawyers and law students experiencing any issue that may impact their quality of life or ability to practice law.

Diekhoff and Tapp were appointed by the Indiana Supreme Court in the Nov. 4 order, In the Matter of Appointments to the Indiana Judges and Lawyers Assistance Committee, 21S-MS-504. They will replace outgoing committee members Ellen Hurley, associate general counsel for the Indianapolis Airport Authority, and J. Mark Robinson, who was recognized in 2019 with the Randall T. Shepard Award for Excellence in Pro Bono for his 40 years spent at Indiana Legal Services. The terms for the two newest members will end Dec. 31, 2025.

Also, the court reappointed committee members Lake Superior Judge Gina Jones, Tonya Bond, partner at Plews Shadley Racher & Braun, Cornelius J. Harrington III, of counsel and local office managing partner for Litchfield Cavo LLP, and Angka Hinshaw, attorney with the Marion County Public Defender Agency, to new terms which will commence Jan. 1, 2022. Their terms will end either Dec. 31, 2025 or when their successors are appointed.
