Indiana Court of Appeals

Steven C. Clear v. State of Indiana

24A-CR-170

Criminal. Affirms the Shelby Superior Court’s denial of Steven Clear’s petition for additional credit time. Finds Clear failed to convince the appellate court that the trial court erred in denying his petition as the evidence does not lead unerringly and unmistakably to a decision opposite that reached by the trial
court.

Shaka Adiyia Shakur v. Jack Hendrix Executive Director, et al.

23A-CT-1564

Civil tort. Affirms the Sullivan Circuit Court’s grant of summary judgment in favor of Indiana Department of Correction Commissioner Robert Carter Jr., DOC Director Jack Hendrix and Westville Correctional Facility Warden Richard Brown. Finds the trial court properly granted summary judgment in the DOC Officials’ favor as to the due process claims. Also finds Shaka Adiyia Shakur’s Eighth Amendment claims failed.

Richard A. Colvin v. George M. Taylor

23A-MF-2053

Mortgage foreclosure. Affirms the Henry Circuit Court’s denial of Richard Colvin’s jury demand in the foreclosure proceeding against him. Finds the equitable clean-up doctrine applies.
