Court of Appeals of Indiana
Dustin A. Lane v. State of Indiana
22A-CR-2276
Criminal. Revises Dustin Lane’s aggregate sentence from 3,000 days to 300 days and remands to the Lawrence Superior Court to enter a sentencing order consistent with the appellate opinion. Finds Lane has met his burden to demonstrate that his sentence is inappropriate in light of the nature of the offenses and his character. Judge Dana Kenworthy dissents with separate opinion.

Safeco Insurance Company of Indiana as Subrogee of Ramona Smith v. Blue Sky Innovation Group, Inc.; Cabela’s Wholesale, L.L.C.; TMBC, L.L.C. of Missouri; Bass Pro Outdoor World, L.L.C.; Cabela’s Retail MO, L.L.C.; Bass Pro, L.L.C.; Bass Pro Group, LLC; and Michaelis Corporation
22A-CT-1924
Civil tort. Reverses the Marion Superior Court’s ruling that granted Michaelis Corporation’s motion and dismissed both Safeco Insurance Company of Indiana’s third-party spoliation and negligence claims. Finds Safeco’s pleadings are sufficient to survive the motion to dismiss. Remands for further proceedings.

Christopher Camden v. State of Indiana (mem. dec.)
22A-CR-1398
Criminal. Affirms Christopher Camden’s conviction of Level 3 felony aggravated battery. Finds the Greene Circuit Court did not abuse its discretion by denying Camden’s motion to correct error based on alleged newly discovered evidence, nor by admitting State’s Exhibit 15.
