Johnathon Holley’s suspension begins immediately, according to an Aug. 5 disciplinary order from the Indiana Supreme Court. He will be automatically reinstated when it ends.
Holley and the attorney who represented him in the criminal case did not immediately respond to requests from The Indiana Lawyer for comment.
In January, Holley pleaded guilty to the felony as part of a plea agreement in Fountain Circuit Court. In June 2025, Holley went to his ex-wife’s home and got into an argument with her boyfriend. The parties agree that during the confrontation, Holley mistakenly put his vehicle into “drive” instead of “reverse” and drove into the boyfriend, injuring him, according to court documents.
Following the incident, Holley was charged with battery by means of a deadly weapon and criminal recklessness. The battery charge was dismissed as part of his plea agreement.
He has been suspended on an interim basis since April. Holley has no prior attorney discipline cases against him and continues to participate in rehabilitative efforts with the Indiana Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program, according to court documents.
As part of his disciplinary terms, Holley will have a year of probation that requires continued participation in the program’s grief-and-loss support groups, according to the court.
