The Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence will host its annual 5K Race Away From Domestic Violence in Indianapolis this month to help raise awareness and money for its efforts to end abuse and violence.

The race is at the Indiana University Michael A. Carroll Stadium on the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis campus Aug. 15. Registration starts at 7 a.m., and opening ceremonies begin at 7:40 a.m. There is a competitive run and a family fitness run/walk or wheelchair roll along the route. Hot air balloons will also be launched as part of the opening ceremonies, if the weather allows.

Participants may register online. For more information, visit the ICADV Web site's race event page.
