Several Indiana legal organizations are accepting nominations for awards given by their groups. All have July deadlines.

The Indiana Judges Association is now taking nominations for this year’s Commendation for Excellence in Public Information and Education. Two awards – one to a judge and one to a journalist – are given to nominees who have helped inform the public about the work of the Indiana courts.

More information and nomination forms can be found on the court's website.  Nominations are due July 29.

The Indianapolis Bar Association’s Women & the Law Division is seeking nominations of successful and accomplished female attorneys for its 2011 Antoinette Dakin Leach Award.

The award is named after the first woman admitted to the Indiana bar. It’s given to a central Indiana female attorney who exemplifies the determination and successes of Leach and is a pioneer or trailblazer in the community.

Nominations are due July 31. More information and the nomination form are online.

The Indiana State Bar Association is accepting nominations for awards that will be given during its annual meeting in French Lick in October. Awards include the Civility Awards, Gale M. Phelps Award, and Outstanding Judge Award. All nominations are due July 20. A complete list of awards that are open for nomination along with more information and the criteria for each are available on the ISBA’s website.
