Authorities say a fugitive former surgeon convicted of stalking his ex-wife in Indiana has been caught in Arizona.

The Miami County Sheriff's Office said 49-year-old Gregory Konrath fled his in-home detention after removing his tracking device earlier this week. Authorities say he was apprehended during a traffic stop Thursday night by officers from the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The sheriff's office says Konrath is in jail pending extradition to Miami County. He will be held without bond pending prosecution for his escape.

Konrath was arrested in July after investigators say they discovered he had been plotting to kill his ex-wife. He pleaded guilty to two counts of stalking after charges of attempted murder were dropped.
