Attorney Adam Sedia tells The (Munster) Times that his clients want a Lake County judge to act by Jan. 1 when their elected terms begin. They argue the 2012 state law violates their free speech and equal privileges rights under the state constitution.
The Indiana attorney general's office says the Legislature acted within its authority in deciding people can hold only one local government position at a time.
