Subscribe NowA top official at USA Track & Field Inc. will discuss the legal issues surrounding the 2016 Summer Olympic Games at a lecture hosted by the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law next week.
Norman Wain, general counsel and chief of business affairs for USA Track & Field, manages all business and legal matters for the running organization, which is the national governing body for the sports of long-distance running, race walking and track and field. His talk will cover a variety of legal issues associated with the 2016 summer games, including anti-doping efforts, intellectual property rights, the Ryan Lochte controversy and other topics.
Previously, Wain has handled legal affairs for Finish Line and Writers & Artists Agency Inc. He was also a private litigator in Santa Monica, California, and served for six years on the national board of directors of the Association of Corporate Counsel.
“Mr. Wain’s expertise in the field of sports law is well-known,” Associate Dean Karen Bravo said in a statement. “He is the placement supervisor for our USA Track & Field externship, which creates a fantastic opportunity for our students.”
Wain’s lecture is free and open to the public and will also carry a one-hour CLE credit with registration. It begins at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 20 in the Inlow Hall Wynne Courtroom at IU McKinney.
