U.S. Attorney Josh Minkler announced Friday that Indiana Southern District Judge Tanya Walton Pratt recently sentenced 40-year-old David Theiring to 87 months’ imprisonment on his guilty pleas to two counts of possession of unregistered destructive devices and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
No one was injured during the 2016 bombings, which occurred in Theiring’s hometown of Madison, about 50 miles northeast of Louisville. One of the bombs exploded on the sidewalk in front of the Madison Police Department and outside the home of Jefferson Superior Judge Mike Hensley. No one was injured in either explosion, authorities said at the time of Theiring’s arrest.
