Pro Bono Indiana is preparing to launch its new pro bono opportunity website, which will provide a one-stop site for all of the state’s civil legal aid programs.
According to Pro Bono Indiana, the site was created with funding through a grant from the Indiana Bar Foundation and through work with partners across the state.
The website will be publicly released on Thursday at a launch party at the Indiana State Bar Association in Indianapolis. Doors will open at 4 p.m., and the site demo begins at 5 p.m.
The new site will provide a platform for all of the civil legal aid programs in the state, including Indiana Legal Services and local legal aid societies, according to PBI.
“For the first time, this centralized platform will allow visitors to search for individual cases, for local legal events, and legal clinics for brief service engagements,” PBI said in a message to local bar associations last week. “The site is searchable by legal subject matter, geography, and other filters to allow potential volunteers to match a need with their own skills and interests.”
The new site replaces the former “Get Involved” link on Indiana Legal Help.
“The site will aid your local pro bono program office by making it easier to reach volunteers,” PBI said, “and with so many virtual opportunities now possible through PBI offices, we hope the site will increase services to our many rural areas with limited resources.
