With the closing of the deal on Dec. 31, the law firm now boasts more than 1,250 lawyers strong across the United States. The merger was announced in August.
Taft said the combination creates an Am Law 100 firm with 25 offices nationwide and projected revenues exceeding $1 billion.
“Completing this merger is a major step forward in Taft’s long-term strategy,” said Robert J. Hicks, Taft’s firmwide chairman and managing partner, who is based in Indianapolis. “Morris Manning brings a remarkable legacy of excellence, strong leadership, and a culture that fits seamlessly with ours. By combining our talent and capabilities, we are poised for significant growth in Atlanta and D.C. as we continue to scale our presence nationally.”
Morris Manning is a nationally recognized Am Law 200 firm with nearly 50 years of experience in areas like real estate, litigation, and corporate law.
The merger marks Taft’s third in 2025, which also saw combinations with Denver’s Sherman & Howard last January and Florida-based Mrachek Law in June.
In the Indianapolis market, Taft has 173 attorneys, making it the second-largest law firm in the area, according to Indianapolis Business Journal research.
