A central Indiana man has been sentenced to a year of probation after pleading guilty to 30 misdemeanor counts of voter registration fraud stemming from allegations before the 2018 primary election. Datwaon Collier of Anderson entered the pleas Friday in Madison Circuit Court Division 6 in an agreement with Madison County prosecutors.

Judge: Woman can’t keep pet pigs in Anderson

A judge has ruled that a woman can’t keep her three miniature pigs within the city limits of her central Indiana community. Madison Circuit Court Judge George Pancol rejected Lily Harsh’s appeal of a 2017 decision by the Anderson Board of Zoning Appeals to deny her a zoning variance to keep the pet pigs.

The city of Anderson and its former Mayor Kevin Smith will pay $30,000 to a former city worker who filed a lawsuit alleging she was arrested for trying to deliver her mother’s absentee ballot. The city will pay $20,000, while Smith will pay $10,000 under a May settlement.

Imprisoned Anderson attorney disbarred for theft from estates

An Anderson attorney currently serving an eight-year prison sentence for misappropriating hundreds of thousands in estate funds has been disbarred. Stephen Schuyler pleaded guilty to 15 counts last June and had been under an interim suspension issued by the Indiana Supreme Court.
